For these chapters the only word that I had left was fear, but I didn’t want to use this word.  So I decided to use the word friendship. I decided to choose this word for chapters 11 and 12 because their friendship is what got them through everything that hit them. They had to deal with things like death, but the gang was able to move on by helping each other or in other words their friendship. They all stuck together through thick and thin. They did this because they cared about eachother. They were like peas in a pod.

Chapters 9 and 10

Survival- I saw survival in this chapter not necessarily because they all survived, but they all had a sort of war. It was all for survival. Some made it and survived, while others like Johnny and
Dallas/ Dally weren’t as fortunate to do so. Johnny died in order for others to live, while Dally died because he didn’t want to live after Johnny had died. Dally couldn’t handle his emotions because of his love, and that brought him to his end. Only the strongest in mind and body were able to survive this harsh world in which all of these kids live in. In their world it was basicly a do or die situation.

Chapters 7and 8

Friendship- I feel that this chapter is all about friendship. Friendship is demonstrated by all the members of the gang and a few other people like Cherry and Randy. He gang members showed their friendship by going to visit Johnny and Dally in the hospital and by being so concerned for them and Ponyboy. Cherry and Randy showed the friendship they had with Bob, the soc that was killed, by mourning his loss and they even both told Ponyboy how good a guy he was, that is when he wasn’t under the influence. They said that drinking made him a completely different person and that they really missed him. They all showed concern and love for one another’s well being, and in my mind that is what friendship is all about. It’s about being there for one another and just enjoying one another’s company. So I feel that this is the best word to describe these chapters.

Chapters 5 and 6

Heroism  :P!

For chapters 5 and 6 I decided to chose the word heroism. I chose this word because of the different events in these chapters.  Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally were the ones whom demonstrated heroism by the deeds they commited. Ponyboy and Johnny showed complete selflessnes by going into the burning church trying to save the little children that were trapped inside. Dally showed heroism by trying to save Johnny and Ponyboy after they realized that they were in trouble. They knew that they were putting themselves in danger by doing what they did. So I definitely feel that heroism is shown in these chapters and that it is definetly the best word, or at least in my opinion.
