Final Post For The Veldt

What kind of relationships do you see in the Veldt?                                                                                                                                             In the story the Veldt you see the kids, Peter and Wendy, and their parents . You also see the relationship between the children and the nursery. You end up noticing that the room becomes like the children’s mom and dad, and their real parents end up being nothing to them. They may not be good relationships but they are relationships none the less. In my opinion the relationships are very unhealthy. I believe that this happened because of the parents negligence and spoiling of their children.                                                                          How do you see power? How is power displayed?                                                         I see power exhibited by the children and in a way by nursery room. The children have the power to get whatever they want from their parents. They get whatever they want by throwing tantrums and by making their parents feel bad, and as a result get that which hey want. This is shown in the story when the kids get more time in the nursery (before they were supposed leave to Iowa), because they were crying and throwing ridiculous tantrums. In real life kids do this all the time in order to get what their hearts desire. This is especially done by the smaller kids. They start going crazy unitl their parents either feel bad or get annoyed, for that matter, and get them what they desire.                                 The other power which is exhibited by the nursery is the power they had to break another relationship. The nursery was able to break the bond between the kids and their parents. It was able to turn the children away from their parents, to the point that the kids even killed them in order to keep the room. It changed these kids into being something completletely different from what they were.
